The Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, moved this year from a Thursday to the Seventh Sunday of Easter.
According to our Christian faith, we now share with the Jews not only the privilege of being a people of the Book, the Hebrew Bible, but also the opportunity to be a sacramental people before other nations. We are also the people of a New Covenant that identifies God with us through the gift of Jesus Christ, the Word of God in our humanity.
The Ascension of the Lord teaches us that we are not the ones who receive the leftovers of God's gifts, but a significant community that bears the responsibility of living like Christ, in love with the world. We are a special people with the opportunity to serve the world with the same love that brought about Creation, delivered Israel from Egypt, returned the Jews from Babylonian exile, and brought Jesus through his death as we die to a life as God lives. .
It is sad that few Christians have the opportunity to see in their lives the dignity that God gives us for what we say and do before the world. Today, the Acts of the Apostles indicates how we became that sacramental people.
We are the ones who must offer our life despite the danger of the world that believes in power and accumulated wealth. We live to be its contradiction and its salvation. We live our lives with the same sacrificial love that so moved Christ during his life among us. How he represents the total uninstallation of the creator and liberating God, so do we. We are invited by baptism to live and die with that same sense of giving time to those who live among us.
The letter to the Hebrews tells us that Christ lives and dies to establish our unity with God and to share his authority over the Christian life. The authority of Jesus loves, serving others. For us there is no other authority. We never send anyone. We live only to serve, to ensure that everyone has life, food, home and work in the freedom of an organized humanity. For that purpose Jesus lived; This is what we must live for today.
Christ continues to accompany us in our lives and in the Gospel, these two realities being a broken bread to feed everyone. The Spirit of Christ moves us according to the details of our life, with a defense when it is necessary or with encouragement when we are lazy. So we must continue to promote justice, love and compassion in the world.
In the Gospel that is read today, Jesus explains to the disciples that all those who give testimony in their lives, of his life, death and resurrection will receive the power of God.
That power is always creative, liberating and founded on the basis of the love of others and our obedience to God's covenant with us.

Nunca mandamos a nadie.

SAFEGUARD THE CHILDREN ARTICLE HELMETS SAVE LIVES
Bike riding is great fun and a good form of exercise for children — it is also great way to get around. A properly fitted helmet can reduce the risk of a head injury by almost 50%, but many children go without them.
Teach your children the importance of helmet safety and enforce rules about wearing them. You can also teach your children to use hand signals to show cars and other riders where they are going, and
to follow the rules of the road. For more safety tips, visit safekids.org/bike.
buena forma de ejercicio para los niños;
U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) offered the
following statement from its spokesperson, Chieko Noguchi,
director of public affairs.
“There have been too many school shootings, too much killing of the innocent. Our Catholic faith calls us to pray for those who have died and to bind the wounds of others, and we join our prayers along with the community in Uvalde and Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller. As we do so, each of us also needs to search our souls
for ways that we can do more to understand this epidemic of evil and violence and implore
our elected officials to help us take action.”
