To Open Hearts to God

Dear brothers and sisters,

Home sweet home! And so the saying says and it is true because nothing compare to home in this world. It was about 23 years ago my father, in his 90’s, asked me to take him to search for his parents house in the north of the state of Jalisco.

Now, it was over 80 years since he had left not only the house but the village. After 2 hours of searching and asking people the whereabouts of the house we found it! My father’s heart broke in an

indescribable emotion that transformed that house in ruins in the most beautiful and loving place on earth. My mother, brother and I embrace my father in a moment I wished would never end! The most Holy Trinity was there and in that embrace I

experienced love, security, peace, joy and the faith- filled silence that expressed everything meaningful and perfect in life.

As we celebrate the Nativity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus we remember a Family so holy that was capable of transforming a cold and inhabited cave into the most warm, loving and remembered home that ever existed! In that dusty inn the most

powerful expression of love, security, peace, joy and the faith-filled silence was born in the flesh.

It is my wish and prayer that this Christmas you experience the joy of the birth of the new born King that can transform your home in the most holy place on earth with an expression of love, security, peace, joy and the faith-filled silence.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas:

¡Hogar dulce hogar! Así dice el dicho y es cierto porque nada se compara con el hogar en este mundo. Hace unos 23 años, mi padre, de unos 90 años, me pidió que lo llevara a buscar la casa de sus padres en el norte del estado de Jalisco. Ahora, habían pasado más de 80 años desde que había dejado no solo la casa sino también el pueblo.

¡Después de 2 horas de buscar y preguntarle a la gente sobre la casa, la encontramos! El corazón de mi padre se rompió en una emoción indescriptible que transformó esa casa en ruinas en el lugar más hermoso y amoroso de la tierra. ¡Mi madre, mi hermano y yo abrazamos a mi padre en un momento que deseé que nunca terminara! La Santísima Trinidad estaba allí y en ese abrazo experimenté amor, seguridad, paz, alegría y el silencio lleno de fe que expresa todo lo significativo y perfecto en la vida.

Al celebrar el Nacimiento de Nuestro Señor y

Salvador Jesús, recordamos a una familia tan santa que fue capaz de transformar una cueva fría e inhabitada en el hogar más cálido, amoroso y recordado que jamás haya existido. En esa posada polvorienta, la mayor expresión de amor, seguridad, paz, alegría y el silencio lleno de fe se hizo realidad encarnada.

Es mi deseo y oración que esta Navidad

experimenten la alegría del nacimiento del Rey recién nacido que transforme tu hogar en el lugar más sagrado de la tierra con amor, seguridad, paz, alegría y un silencio lleno de fe.

Dear Parishioners,

I am leaving Santa Maria del Popolo parish. I have recently moved to Woodstock, IL about an hour’s drive from Mundelein. Also, it is located in another diocese, the Rockford diocese.

So I am transferring from the Chicago archdiocese to a local parish in the Rockford diocese. This went into effect on Friday the 20^th of December. I thank you all for your support and generosity throughout my ministry here. I became a member of this parish in 1976 and was ordained a deacon in 1988. This is the only parish I have known during my time in Illinois. At Father Miguel’s invitation I will be returning every first Sunday of the month to preach at the 7:30 AM Mass. Additionally I will remain involved in all the services, rites and rituals associated with funerals. I appreciate the time we have spent together and wish you all a blessed and fruitful life in Christ.

Quiero dejarles saber que me voy de la parroquia de Santa Maria del Popolo.

Recientemente me mudé a Woodstock, IL, aproximadamente a una hora de Mundelein.

Este suburbio se encuentra en la diócesis de Rockford. Debido a esto me he tenido que transferir de la arquidiócesis de Chicago a una parroquia local en la Diócesis de Rockford.

Esto entró en vigencia a partir del viernes 20 de diciembre. Les agradezco a todos su apoyo y generosidad a lo largo de mi ministerio en Santa Maria del Popolo. Me hice miembro de esta parroquia en 1976 y fui ordenado diácono en 1988. Esta es la única parroquia que he conocido durante mi tiempo en Illinois. Por invitación del padre Miguel, regresaré cada primer domingo de mes para predicar en la misa de las 7:30 a.m. Además, seguiré involucrado en todos los servicios, ritos y rituales asociados con los funerales. Lake County Right to Life’s Annual “Signature Ad” Drive January 4-5, 2020

Every year on the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade

decision of January 22, 1973, Lake County Right to Life runs a commemorative ad in a local news- paper. 60 million children have been aborted in the United States since this decision was handed down. The ad includes the names of hundreds of area pro-lifers and keeps the issue of life before local elected officials and the general public.

Be a Witness for Life by Participating in the Lake County Right to Life’s Annual Signature Ad

Respect Life Ministry members will be in the back of Church the weekend of January 4^th- 5^th 2020 with a short form for you to complete to add your name in support of legal protection for un- born children.
