PASTOR’S MESSAGE
Brothers and Sisters:
Juana and Jay Bohannon got married this past weekend on Sunday Nov. 7 at 3 PM here at our Church. It was a convalidation of their civil marriage for many years. Jay is not Catholic, marrying Juana who was baptized Catholic and confirmed as an infant in Mexico but never made her first communion until now on her wedding day. Juana has been attending Sunday and daily masses here at Church faithfully and joined the RCIA program in preparation for her first communion. I have been involved, along with others in helping Jay and Juana preparing for their Church wedding. For me it has been a grace-filled experience getting to know them, their faith, how they fell in love, their relationship as an interracial as well as mixed religious couple. Si se puede, is the Spanish saying which means, yes we can. Indeed the event of their wedding demonstrated just that, how God's love is such a force in our lives, so much so it is capable of bringing all of us together in spite of cultural, racial or religious differences. What was so moving for me was seeing Juana in tears when receiving Holy Communion for the first time leaning on her husband's shoulder as he gave her comfort. Tears of joy for having her wishes come true. Congratulations Juana and Jay.

Juana y Jay Bohannon se casaron el pasado fin de semana, el domingo 7 de noviembre a las 3 pm aquí en nuestra Iglesia. Fue una convali- dación de su matrimonio civil durante muchos años. Jay no es católico, se casó con Juana, quien fue bautizada como católica y confirmada cu- ando era niña en México, pero nunca hizo su primera comunión hasta ahora el día de su boda. Juana ha estado asistiendo fielmente a misas dominicales y diarias aquí en la Iglesia y se unió al programa de RICA en preparación para su primera comunión. Junto con otras personas, he participado en ayudar a Jay y Juana a prepararse para su boda en la Iglesia. Para mí ha sido una experiencia llena de gracia conocerlos, conocer su fe, cómo se enamoraron, su relación como pareja religiosa interracial y mixta. Si se puede, es el dicho español que significa, sí podemos. De hecho, el evento de su boda demostró precisamente eso, cómo el amor de Dios es una fuerza tan grande en nuestras vidas, tanto que es capaz de unirnos a todos a pesar de las diferencias culturales, raciales o religiosas. Lo que fue tan conmovedor para mí fue ver a Juana llorando cuan- do recibió la Sagrada Comunión por primera vez apoyándose en el hombro de su esposo mientras él la consolaba. Lágrimas de alegría por haber hecho realidad sus deseos. Felicitaciones a Juana y Jay.

Están montados en la pared y están etiquetados como Agua Bendita. Solo necesitas sostener tu mano debajo de ella para que el agua se dispense y luego puedes bendecirte. También hemos devuelto el receptáculo de agua bendita de metal al vestíbulo para las personas que
desean llevarse agua bendita a casa. Las botellas pequeñas están disponibles para una donación o las personas pueden traer su propia botella para llenar.
